I don’t know if it was the fact that it was hot as Hades in the city today or that I got in line by 6:30 but the line tonight at the Shake Shack was the shortest I have ever seen. Well, in the summer at least.
We waited only about 20 minutes. Once we had our food in our hands of course, the line was huge. But we already had our yummies:

Mmm. Shake Shack Cheeseburger and a Concrete: custard with mix-ins. Maribeth’s had chocolate chunks and sprinkles in it and she was nice enough to give me a bite. I must admit my vanilla shake did not compare. I’ve had their chocolate shake before and I wasn’t the biggest fan, the chocolate taste was just off to me, but this Concrete was pretty good. Next time I want to try a strawberry shake though.
We all took our food to the statue again to eat and talk. And half way through some people set up a tasting booth RIGHT next to us for St-Germain liqueur so they gave us all nice little lemon drinks and the rest of the bottle to take home. That was nice. Shake Shack was nice too. No summer in New York is complete without it, and apparently if you go at the right time, you won’t even have to wait that long.
hands down the best burger and custard in all of the north east!!
